How to wash your goalkeeper Gloves
Hey guys so today I’m going to be showing my 9 steps to safely washing your goalkeeper gloves without the use of any chemicals. This is a super easy and effective way to wash the unwanted dirt from the palm of your gloves and restoring them to their original glory! All you will need is:
Seems pretty easy right? It is so just follow the steps below and your gloves will be as good as new.
Step 1- Fill the sink/bucket with warm water (not too hot)
Step 2- If you have new gloves and are giving them a pre wash make sure to remove any wrapping on the latex
Step 3- Be Gentle with your gloves, dont be too aggressive when washing the latex as it could rip and damage it.
Step 4- Next, soak your gloves completely in the warm water, you will know when they are soaked completely when the latex darkens in colour. Ensure all latex is soaking wet
Step 5- Gentle start to scrub the latex with the toothbrush and gently remove the dirt from the latex. Do not scrub hard as it will tear the latex. Apply light to medium pressure.
Step 6- As the dirt is being removed squeeze out the glove and get the excess water and dirt out as it is being removed by the toothbrush.
Step 7- When done, rinse the glove completely to get all remaining dirt out.
Step 8- Gently start to squeeze the water out of the glove. Do not twist your glove as the latex will tear. Do not use excessive force
Step 9- When all the excess water is out of the glove. Leave the glove out to air dry in a warm room, away from any direct sunlight as this will cause the latex to crack and dry, do not leave them on a heater/radiator as again the latex will crack.
OPTIONAL- If you decide to use a glove cleaner gently rub it into the glove untill all the dirt is removed. When finished make sure all the soap and water is rinsed and squeezed out, this may require a few rinses and squeezes. If you do not have a glove cleaner but their is too much dirt to remove with just a toothbrush, use a very mild hand soap, and once again make sure to rinse and squeeze out all soap. Any remaining soap can mess with the chemicals in your latex and destroy the grip
