Kitty checked her watch anxiously, tapping her left foot on the ground.
Kitty sighed. "I called her an hour ago! She should be hare right now."
She rolled her eyes and looked down at the body. He was sprawled across the unfinished wood flooring, a scream frozen on his face. He was pale, almost white. Kitty couldn’t tear her eyes off him.
When she first got here, she almost cried. She’d never seen a body before, much less one so horrific. The investigative team that the Council sent with her attempted to cover it up so she wouldn’t have to look at it, but she told them not to. If she was going to do this job, she was going to do it all the way.
Now, she seemed completely unfazed. She had been sitting here for over an hour, after all. They did all they could without Emma Frost, her assigned partner, but now they just had to wait.
Kitty glared at the clock, watching the minute hand travel all the way around before saying, "If she doesn’t get here in 15 minutes, I'm leaving."
