I find it super hilarious that they know the history of Echo and Alpha but they still thought they could take them with a couple of guns. I couldn't stop the laugh when Alpha just exploded into action and Echo followed and they kicked ass. Awesome. Oh hell. Here's where Adelle realizes that Topher will set off the explosion himself. TEARS. DAMN IT ALL, HERE COME THE TEARS. Also, NGL, I was always sad that Alpha left. Look at what he became and how he helped them fight and fought for peace. At the same time, I get why he'd want to get all those personalities out of his head. JFC, here it comes. TOPHER!!!! BRB, SOBBING.
Oh yeah, you tell him, Adelle. She may help run the Dollhouse but she does have some morals. I love the moment when she calls that Nolan a rapist scumbag and tries to protect Sierra. Yeah, what they do makes that statement ironic but I like that in her own way she does try to protect and care for them. It makes her such a complicated character and one that you want to like. I also like how Topher comes to care for the actives/dolls and struggles with certain things. The dialogue in this episode is fantastic too. Especially this speech from Adelle to Topher when he protests about imprinting Sierra permanently for the man that basically made her crazy and then requests her so that he can have her over and over: "The cold reality is that everyone here was chosen because their morals had been compromised in some way. Everyone except you, Topher. You were chosen because you had no morals. You had always thought of people as playthings. This is not a judgment. You always take good care of your toys. But you're going to have to let this one go." The way Topher's voice cracks when he tells Sierra it's time for her treatment and how Adelle just keeps downing drink after drink when Sierra is leaving...this show is so complicated because I want to root for these guys even knowing that they run the dollhouse. Hell, Topher is my favorite character. Talk about a show that makes you think and kind of fucks with you. All the love for Topher deciding not to imprint Sierra with the personality Nolan wanted and giving her her original personality back. Granted, it ends with murder but let's not go into that since it's Priya murdering the man trying to kill her so...self-defense! (I also love that moment when Priya realizes that she fell in love with someone else. Yay Victor!) And then she calls Topher for help. I love that. I just want people to watch this show. It'll make you question things but I think it's worth it. It's a Joss Whedon show so prepare to have your heart ripped out at some point but, still, worth it.
I'm rewatching my Dollhouse DVDs. This is all the fault of Mark Watches. It really really is. TOPHER!!!! *settles in to watch*
