Where can an American like myself watch the FAWSL, Champion's League or any of the european leagues teams, because I would love to watch I just don't know how.
OK, so this is just my knowledge and going off what the last season was like - it may change, who knows.
Note - this is just the leagues I’m talking about - all leagues have a cup competition (England have 2) that run throughout the season as well, these games particularly the later stages are often shown on TV/streamed as well.
Toppserien (Norway): 23rd March - 16th November 2019 (currently mid-season break - returns 27th July)
I think some games are shown on NRK TV but a VPN is needed outside of Norway.
Damallsvenskan (Sweden): 13th April - 26th October 2019 (currently mid-season break - returns 20th July)
Damallskvenskan TV is a subscription service which shows all the matches, think you can watch wherever you are in the world.
Frauen-Bundesliga (Germany): 17th August 2019 - 17th May 2020
I think a couple of matches are shown each week on DFB.de - it’s geo-blocked but you can watch with a VPN. I believe some others are also shown on TV, so streams may be available.
Division 1 (France): August 2019 - May 2020
Some of the matches are shown on TV and you can usually find streams for them - I’m not sure much more than that tbh.
If a D1 game is being shown on tv, you'll find it on neuf.xyz (thanks @laureboulette!)
Serie A (Italy): 24th August 2019 - 24th May 2020
Last year Sky TV aired the match played on Sundays at 12.00pm - presumably streams would be available (thanks @the-untrodden-ways!)
FAWSL (England): 6th/7th Sept 2019 - 16th/17th May 2020
Generally, all the teams play at the weekend and 2-3 matches will be shown:
1 on BBC Redbutton/BBC Sport Online (should be able to watch w/VPN)
1 on FAWSL Facebook - not geo-blocked
1 on BT Sport (less regular - but you can generally find a stream).
Usually the matches that will be broadcast are announced a day or two beforehand on the FAWSL Twitter. Some teams had also started to show games on their own Facebook pages/apps/club TV etc towards the end of the season so hopefully that will continue. If I have the time when the season starts I’ll try to put a list out of who’s playing and where you can watch each week.
Liga Iberdrola (Spain): 8th Sept 2019 - May 2020
All matches will be broadcast, believed to be on Gol TV (if that changes I’ll update). (thanks @thacoolestk and @nupakachi11!)
They will also to be streamed on UEFA.tv - UEFA's new free-to-air digital platform.
Champions League: 11th/12th September 2019 - 24th May 2020
This is very much dependant on the teams involved - there are not always streams of the early stages but the best thing is probably to keep an eye out at the time.
The Chelsea quarter and semi finals were shown on the Chelsea app and the semi on the BBC. Obv Chelsea aren’t involved this year, but I’d hope that if Man City or Arsenal got to the later stages of CL the BBC would show the games.
Barcelona and Bayern Munich both streamed their quarter and semi-finals on YouTube.
Lyon and PSG’s quarter and semi finals were shown on French TV, but streams were reasonably easy to find.
The final is shown in a lot of countries/on a lot of TV stations so there are usually a lot of stream options.
Hope that helps - I know more about FAWSL than other leagues so if anyone else has more info please do let me know!
