See? That's a much better plot point for why Ben doesn't attempt to escape or fight back against his captors.

I also just realized that the Justice League cartoon two-parter, "War World," used this exact same plot point to have its enslaved combatants fight against each other.

I wonder how often this plot point has been featured in comic books and science fiction stories.
