Pleasepleaseplease I need to know all the information about StarClan, The Place of No Stars, the Fog (In-between), ghosts, angels and other deities.
I LOVE how you are writing everything so far, but I can't seem to find this in the blog!
First of all, elite tier username.
Second.... I am SO sorry you can't find it. I'll have linked a few posts into this!
But yeah! I can yap about them!
Starclan
Starting with Starclan, in WCR they still take on that general "heaven" role. And it's still a nice place to be!
The main part of the Territory is wherever the Clans are, in a gorgeous state of Greenleaf. However, should you venture out a tiny bit, you can find the territory repeats itself in the other seasonal states! Prey in Starclan is plentiful, and as dumb or smart as you want your hunt to be.
Starclan is flawed though, too. That thing that everyone wants Canon to say. Yes, they try and be democratic, to give trials and hear folks out. But there's still bias. The cats of Starclan aren't magically wise, Bluestar and Yellowfang are still the cats they were in life. (Also, Squilf and Leaf's trial isn't made up of cats who committed the same "crime" that was a terrible idea)
But Starclan's flaws have been growing. Moon Flight, a pseudo leader of them all, has grown irate and borderline rabid about the code. Leafpool being celebrated for trampling her precious law, for "getting away with it" and being able to have her career and family? Moon Flight is at AM levels of hatred (jealousy) over her. She is holding Starclan in an iron fist and refuses to be undermined, and using some of the strongest angel there as her enforcers, such as Silverhawk's son, Lynxfire.
Angels
Angels are Starclan cats who can really pack a punch. They have low levels of nature/"white mage" magic and are not to be trifled with.
Angels can be invoked, usually by leaders and clerics and usually for protection. They're believed to bless cats and protect the living, but... None of them ever confirm it. Though, there's been some very odd cases out there! Unexplainable miraculous recoveries, or shimmering starry cats spotted alongside others in battles...
Look, it's hard not having a camera to record them, okay? Just trust me bro, I definitely saw a Starclan Cat while I was beating the hell out of Deputyface!
Some examples of these exceptionally strong cats are: Swiftclaw (Swiftpaw), Snowflower (Snowfur), Spottedleaf, Stonefur, Flametail and Deadfoot. They're all very powerful, and while Jayfeather was able to summon many of them to fight The Last Hope, Swiftclaw appears in Cinderpelt's vision with a terrifying form. A flaming beast, striped with shadow like a tiger, leaping through brambles and setting the forest ablaze, burning it to ash before disappearing into a calm, still pool.
In visions, you get a glimpse of their true, terrifying power. And with it comes a form most cats can barely comprehend, hence Cleric training being so important. These visions can be so strong that they can induce headaches/migraines, nosebleeds and in extreme cases, seizures.
Which sucks for Shadowsight, who already has epilepsy. L for Starclan, he has enough on his plate already!
The Place of No Star/The Dark Forest
Here's a juicy one. I feel like it's west of Starclan, in the direction of the setting sun.
It's dark, that goes without saying, but... No one has actually seen the sky there! The thick branches and leaves cover it up, and trying to climb one will get you nothing but a nasty injury and many cats laughing at you afterwards. God help you if you happened to be new there, too. Darkstripe is forever known as "guy who waited 3 seconds before climbing up a tree and getting swatted into a river".
The air carries no breeze, no scent. The grass, sparingly found on the spongy earth that seems to breath under your feet, is rough and sharp. Sometimes your paws tangle in longer strands, as if it's trying to grab you and hold you down. If no one is around you, it is horrifyingly quiet. Mushrooms and lichen glow a gloomy red and blue-green. There is very little prey, and it's smart.
There are many landmarks in the Dark Forest, created by terrible events or nightmares, or fears. The Bonehill exists, as does the Sun Camp where Sol sits on his sun-bleached throne.
(Subsection: Gods!)
Sol was a vessel for the Sun God. There are a few of those. Not... Sun Gods, other Gods.
There is Midnight, the Dimensions/Space/Alternate Realities God who can beam knowledge into you from other realities such as Squirrelpaw having been a human chef in another universe. There is Rock, the cursed God of Time capable of sending you anywhere in time from his eldritch tunnels.
There is a Moon God... But I'm not ready for you guys to meet them juuuust yet. That ham is still being steamed. ;)
Back to the Dark Forest!
The Dark Forest also has a prison area, where some cats would temporarily lock themselves inside out of guilt for forgiven crimes. This is the closest point to the Fog Barrier you can get. Onewhisker spent time there for a little while and caught a glimpse of something moving, but he shook it off as a trick of the mind.
And with what those things look like? I can't blame him.
Devils/Demons
THESE ARE DIFFERENT FROM THE FOG DEMONS.
These are the evil, smooth talking, deal making, dream walkers that roam the Dark Forest.
Black magic and all, they'll get you what you wanted, but it'll cost you everything, and that cheque better not bounce... Slippery things, devils.
Thistleclaw's promise of praise and appreciation for Snailpaw Ivypaw, Mapleshade's promise of love, strength and protection to Stormkit, Tigerstar's promise of Vengeance and justice to Breezepelt. They'll tell you anything you wanna hear. Never once in his adult life did Tigerstar dwell on Pinestar's leaving, but you'd better bet he laid it on THICK for Breezepelt.
They can effect things in the material world, be channeled and invoked similarly to angels, and they'll talk way more directly to you.
Think of it like... You feel an angel's presence nearby, but that devil you summoned has got his arm around your shoulder offering you a free hacked Netflix account if you bring him more fishbones.
They're strong, their oily black blood decays any plants it touches, whereas holy, sparkling silver angel blood can heal. And for many of them, their hunger knows no bounds, the Dark Forest warping their minds...
It's a brutal place, for some they are happy to call it home, but for many... It's exactly what Bright Storm created it to be. And she made sure Clear Sky's spirit was put to good use, keeping devils out, and keeping angels in.
...
But even the best barriers have holes.
The Fog Demons (Body horror TW)
Angels will beat your ass for talking about Moon Flight. Devils will totally get you free Robux No Malware...
These things will kill you.
No fancy speeches. They don't do the whole "beg for your life" thing. They do not have a rhetoric that dictates their actions. They do not care.
Get in their way, and it's over. Every single one of them is a danger.
The Fog Barrier surrounds Starclan and The Place of No Stars. It's thick and swirling, the ground barren while the occasional rock or puddle. And, of course, whatever the residents can make with their extreme emotions effecting Clear Sky's used-up soul...
It isn't a place to linger.
You probably already know about Emberdawn. Silverhawk's mate who ran from Starclan to find him and was lost in the fog... But what about the others?
Well, the first we have here, is Bone of Bloodclan. Bone wanders the mists, a massive, hulking creature the size of a polar bear. Terrible eyesight with his tooth studded collar wrapped around/over his eyes but a wonderful sense of smell from his large nose. Massive boar tusks protrude from his muzzle, and he has garden-scythe-like claws that never sheathe. If he finds you, you need to run as fast as you can, and pray that something will hide your scent if you cannot find the border end.
Another is Webweaver (very mild arachnophobia warning), a tolly from Thunderclan, once named Spiderpelt. They ran from the Dark Forest, believing herself to be the greatest tactician Thunderclan could have had... But while he managed to escape the Dark Forest, it only landed them in the Fog. Here, they have woven a MASSIVE spiderweb, full of fake cats of all ages that wail for help to draw you in. Once you've entangled yourself, a tiger-size cat with many eyes and spindly legs will show up, and at that point, it's over. His tail is massively bushed up to spin spider webs, and she's more than happy to make you into one of her new "friends"
On the... Odder side... We have Tornstep. Once a proud Tunnler of Windclan, having lost his leg in an incident but never stopping, his missing limb a point of pride, a battle won against the tunnels that nearly claimed him. He died and went to Starclan, where he would stay for many, many years... Until Heatherstar, Heatherstep, the blasphemous cat who destroyed their culture, got to go to Starclan too. In a rage, he entered the fog, and he's been building tunnels there ever since, his cat body slowly warping...
There's the surprisingly more 'lucid' Demons, like Shatterheart and Pigeontail.
Shatterheart will take you as her mate, keeping you in her subzero home until you become a beautiful ice sculpture for her to keep forever. The first cat to get a Dishonor Title.
Pigeontail, a former Cleric whose grief over a mistake caused him to snap. His body is so long in the middle that no one has ever seen his back half, just the front, endlessly stretching and weaving through the foggy landscape for more "patients" to "cure". The most "polite" of the Demons and the one that actually will speak the most.
An important note is that many of these cats have lost themselves, their minds as foggy as the grounds they wander. But this does not make all of them snarling beasts.
There is one such beast, however, whose snarl is well known. The main reason Frecklewish opts to take Tornsteps treacherous Ant Tunnels rather than the surface.
Notice that crossed out name next to Ivypaw up there?
Thistleclaw canonically trained a molly who failed her assessment. With his tone indicating that she didn't get to try again. No cat ever mentions him in an ex-mentor context. And this cat, if she died, would almost certainly be in TPONS... So where is she?
I present to you... Snailpaw.
Her mother, Greenflower, begged her to stay after her death. Drowned in the river after a mysterious gust of wind knocked her in after she failed to kill her sibling, Copperpaw.
But she wouldn't accept Starclan. They were weak, they didn't praise her like Thistleclaw did. If she managed to find the Dark Forest, she could find him, try her test again in a new way... The Fog swirling around her was just another test! She would please her mentor, kill any stupid cat that she found in here, Snailpaw was stronger than any cat, better than any cat!
Snailthistle is no longer a cat.
Her fur is matted and sticks out randomly, covered in oily black and shimmering white and faded reddish brown stains. The size of a servel, with long, sharp teeth that make her drool everywhere, huge claws like scythes, sunken eyes and a long, whipping tail with a large spiny thistle on the end. The Fog's most active hunter.
There are more, but this will have to do. For now.
