All I wanted was you - Frederik Andersen
Others didn’t understand your relationship and at times neither did you. When you first met Freddie you were shocked at how well you two clicked. The more you learned about him the more you felt like you had known him for years. The age gap never mattered to the both of you, he made it clear from the beginning that he thought you were mature and even though you were ten years his junior he still felt a connection with you, so what changed? Where did things go wrong?
You along with the other WAGS made your way to the lockers, each of you unhappy about the loss. You loved everything about this team and the friends you had made and having the other girls in the same situation as you made you feel a slight bit better. One by one each player emerged, looking sad but eager to get out of the arena and go to the team hotel. When Freddie emerged you knew something was wrong, his shoulders were sagged and his head was down. By now you knew him and you knew he would be feeling like the loss was all his fault. Carefully walking over to him you lifted your arms and wrapped yourself around him, despite him bending down and you being on your tippy toes you still weren’t close to being the same height as him and that was something you loved about your relationship, he was always the tall caring and cuddly boyfriend that you wanted and you loved every bit of it. Freddie sighed to himself and gave you a quick peck on your cheek. The two of you, along with the others headed towards the team hotel for what you knew was going to be a long night.
As the night went on more and more of the players and their significant others made their way to the closed off bar. The drinks were flowing and the music was loud, despite the earlier loss everyone seemed to be in a good mood, except for Freddie and Auston. You went to get yourself another drink when you heard Auston bad mouthing Freddie, you couldn’t believe your ears. Auston was a close friend of Freddie’s and someone you knew Freddie trusted. Your blood began to boil and you found yourself rushing over to Auston. You didn’t want to cause a scene but at this stage everyone had heard him, including Freddie but nobody seemed to stop him. “And we would have made it to the second round if Fred just stopped being so goddamn lazy and actually put in an effort! I mean come one man five goals, what are you? Six?” Shouted Auston. You couldn’t take it any longer. You snapped. “How dare you say such awful things about him Auston, you’re his teammate and most of all, his best friend! You don’t have the right to bad mouth him just because you got knocked out of the round! Fred tried his best and has been amazing this season, the least you could do is show some appreciation for him!” You all but screamed. Auston smirked at you. “You sure do have such high hopes for your boy don’t you Y/N? I wonder what you’d think if you knew what he did to you” Auston slyly replied. Your heart started to pound and you looked at Freddie. “What is he talking about Freddie?” You asked. Freddie glared at Auston, silently begging him to not say anymore. Mitch’s girlfriend Steph grabbed your arm and tried to haul you away but you wouldn’t budge. “No tell me what is he talking about?” You shouted to Freddie. Auston suddenly spoke up again, “your so called boyfriend here cheated on you Y/N! Isn’t that right Fred? You cheated on the girl you claim to love and won’t tell her will you?” Said Auston. You stood frozen, shocked from what you heard. You turned to Freddie and asked him was it true but he wouldn’t look at you, wouldn’t make any eye contact. Tears started to form in your eyes, you turned to Steph and asked “did you know about this?”. Steph meekly replied with a yes and you felt your pulse quicken. You physically felt sick.
Grabbing your purse off of the table you quickly bolted out of the bar, bumping into a hundred things on your way out. You heard Freddie calling you, begging you to wait for him but your feet wouldn’t stop running. You were utterly and hopelessly in love with him and he cheated on you as if you were dirt. “How could someone you thought to be so perfect do that to you” you thought to yourself. You jammed at the elevator putting, wishing it would come sooner, when the doors opened you jumped in, jabbing each button, desperately wishing the doors would close before Freddie got to you but as luck would have it, he made it. As soon as he got into the elevator Freddie jammed all the buttons, leaving you two stuck together. He reached out to touch your face but you violently pushed his hands away, barely seeing what you were doing through your tear shed eyes. All you could hear was Freddie repeatedly telling you he was sorry, that he loved you and wanted to be with you. You cried into your hands and wished you were having a bad dream but you realised you weren’t and this was reality, a reality you had to face.
