TOROBAKA - AKRAM KHAN AND ISREAL GALVÁN - KATHAK AND FLAMENCO
I'd seen clips of and heard about Kathak and Flamenco coming together many times as the forms do trace similar historic roots and complement each other, but I'd never heard of a collaboration like this.
Both Akram Khan and Isreal Galván are contemporaries in their forms. They both push and challenge their traditional roots in different ways, not to mention they're incredibly powerful stage performers.
Unfortunately I didn't get to catch their show down in Sadler's Wells, London this week, but I hope it will be back again!
Check out an exclusive and moving web-documentary series that they've put together on the 'Torobaka' website for a behind-the-scenes look at their journey :)
