TruShield Insurance – “Cover Your Ass” – Social Campaign

I’ve had the pleasure of working with the incredible Tom Feiler for a couple of campaigns, notably this continuation of a comedic take on insurance situations for TruShield. (There’s an intriguing Christmas campaign coming a little later this year featuring some of Tom’s humour coupled with some fun effect work.)

Tom’s comedic and artistic influence on this campaign, both for motion and stills, are very apparent. The performances are over-the-top, but in the most effective, normal ways. The art direction is superb. I am counting myself lucky to get the opportunity to have such a fun creative environment to work in.

As an added bonus, I worked with line producer Kristina Anzlinger closely for this. Wow, what a force of nature. Kristina really gets things done! Her smart production savvy really kept the production pace at maximum speed!

Central Tech - Jordan Brand - Nike

This project was so fun to work on. I was approached by Andy Crosbie at Sparks Productions to produce a small-budgeted project for a promotion for Jordan Brand by Nike. Jordan sponsors a couple of local Toronto high school basketball programmes each season, and this year, they chose the worthy programmes at Central Tech and Father Henry Carr.

I was impressed by the initial concept by Mosaic in Toronto, and the talented Andrew Hamilton (madmanforhire.com/about/) directed and edited with poise and skill to create something special. He also introduced me to so many talented crew on this, including the incredible DOP Ali Khurshid.

I live just south of Central Tech, so the project had a neighbourhood impact. The new field at Central Tech was a long time coming, and should benefit the school, and our neighbourhood, for years.

Rogers Canada - Industry Demands Innovation - Internet-only content

After meeting Canadian director Marc André Debruyne many years ago, I finally had the opportunity to work with him on two different projects for Rogers. I was assistant director on this project which produced two different Business Services content pieces for Rogers.

Shot over the course of two days, with twenty talent and one location move, we helped Publicis’ creative teams build these informative, fast-paced spots. Marc André had great vision and really adhered closely to his plan for the two day shoot. He was tremendously insightful with the client, and fantastic with the talent, getting them to work closely as a team.

Two bonuses for me: our director of photography was James Gardner, a long-time friend and collaborator. James and his crew are incredible to work with and brought back some awesome memories. Finally, this team was put together by Lewis Weinstein, of th30ty :, who I worked for back in the music video days. Lewis was such a pleasure to work with; thorough, passionate, smart and experienced.

Great times for Rogers!!!
