(Golden/Silver kits ask thing) That definitely makes sense, thank you very much! If it wouldn't be too much trouble, would you be willing to provide male and female kit options if momma has one wide band gene? To clarify, momma is a black tortoiseshell smoke with one white spotting gene, one silver, one wide band, carries dilution + long fur gene. Dad is black mackerel tabby, carries long fur gene + dilution, no white spotting. Thank you very much!

No problem! I don’t precisely remember what information I gave you last time, so I’m going to list all the information I can for this. Sorry if some of it is redundant!

Alright, to start with the easy stuff, each kit will have a 50/50 chance of being longhaired vs. shorthaired. This pairing can produce black toms, ginger toms, black she-cats, and tortoiseshell she-cats. If the tom carries solid, each kit will have a 50/50 chance of being solid; otherwise, they’ll all be mackerel tabbies. Since both parents carry dilute, each kit has a 25% chance of being dilute. Each kit has a 50/50 chance of getting their mother’s white spotting gene, ending up with anywhere from 0-60% white spotting, vs. having no white spotting like their father.

Now on to the silver/golden series. Each kit has a 50/50 chance of inheriting the she-cat’s silver gene and a separate 50/50 chance of inheriting the wide band gene. If a tabby kit inherits the silver gene, that kit will be a silver tabby. If a silver tabby inherits the wide band gene, that kit will be silver shaded tabby instead. If a solid kit inherits the silver gene, that kit will be smoke. A smoke kit with the wide band gene will have a wider, paler smoke pattern than a kit without it, but they’ll both be smoke.

Non-silver kits still have a 50/50 chance of inheriting the wide band gene. If they don’t inherit it, the kit will simply have the normal color and pattern unaffected by the silver/golden series. If a non-silver tabby kit inherits the wide band gene, that kit will be a golden tabby instead. If a non-silver solid kit inherits the wide band gene, that kit will be golden smoke.

The golden and silver series is a modifier to the cats base coat, so the cat will still be black/ginger/tortie beneath the golden/silver series and thus the golden/silver series will apply to the kits regardless of gender.

What possible kit options are there for a smoke (I think?) tortie with white she-cat (one silver shading gene (no idea about the wide band thing), one white spotting gene, no tabby genes, two long fur genes, one dilution gene, black-black, one red gene) and a black mackerel tabby tom (black-black, no white spotting, carries dilution, one non-agouti gene, one long fur gene). Okay, to start with, each kit has about a 50% chance of being longhaired vs. shorthaired.  Male kits can be black or ginger, and female kits can be black or tortoiseshell. Each kit has a 25% chance of being dilute (black > blue/grey, ginger > cream, tortoiseshell > blue-cream tortie). Each kit will have a 50% chance of being a mackerel tabby vs. solid, but keep in mind that any cream or ginger patches will always be tabby. 

Each kit will have a 50% chance of having around the same amount of white as the she-cat; otherwise they won’t have any. Each kit will have a 50% chance of inheriting their mother’s silver gene and being smoke if solid or silver if tabby.

If you don’t want to deal with the golden series, you can assume the she-cat has no wide band and stop here. If you do want the potential for golden kits, give her one or more wide band genes. One wide band gene will make each non-silver kit have a 50% chance of being golden (tabby or smoke). Two wide band genes will make every non-silver kit be golden (tabby or smoke).

Ok, so there are these two cats I'd like to come up with offspring possibilities for. The she-cat is a smoke tortoiseshell (black + ginger, genetically black-black (no chocolate or cinnamon genes)) with about 20% white, long fur, carries dilution. (Is it possible for her to only have inherited smoke from her dad?? Either way I'm not sure about the wide band genes that she has, what differences could there be?) The tom is a brown mackerel tabby, no white, carries dilution and a long fur gene.

To answer your questions about the molly’s smoke inheritance first, she could definitely have inherited smoke from her dad -- to be smoke, a cat just needs to 1) have a silver or smoke parent, and 2) not be a tabby. Wide band genes won’t affect whether she’s smoke or not, but they will affect what the smoke looks like -- the more wide band alleles she has, the lighter her smoke pattern will be. It’s really up to you which she has.

As for their offspring: 

Each kit will have a roughly 50/50 chance of being longhaired vs. shorthaired. 

Each male kit will have a 50% chance of being genetically black and a 50% chance of being genetically ginger; each female kit will have a 50% chance of being genetically black and a 50% chance of being genetically tortoiseshell.

Each kit will have a 25% chance of being dilute (black > grey, ginger > cream, tortie > blue-cream tortie) and a 75% chance of remaining non-dilute.

If the tom carries solid, each kit will have a 50/50 chance of being a tabby. If he doesn’t, every kit will be a tabby.

Here’s where it gets a bit complicated -- depending on what genes the mother has beneath her smoke, the possible silver/gold patterns on the kits change. Since you say you want her to have inherited smoke just from her father, I’m going to assume she has one silver gene and one non-silver gene. This means each kit has a 50/50 chance of being silver vs. non-silver.

The silver kits will be smoke if solid. If they’re tabbies, their pattern depends on whether the mother has a copy of the wide band gene. If she doesn’t, they’ll be silver tabbies. If she has two copies of the wide band allele, they’ll be silver shaded tabbies. If she has only one copy of the wide band allele, they’ll have a 50% chance of being silver tabbies and a 50% chance of being silver shaded tabbies.

If the mother doesn’t have any copies of the wide band allele, the non-silver kits will all be normally colored and patterned. If she has two copies of the wide band allele, they’ll be golden tabbies if tabbies and golden smoke if solid. If she has only one copy of the wide band allele, they’ll have a 50% chance of being golden and a 50% chance of having their normal color/pattern.

Each kit will have a 50% chance of have no white like their father and a 50% chance of having some white (anywhere from 0-60%) like their mother.
