... “It’s fine now. Why...?”
“Because I am here!”
“Just a note to those who see me on the street... please don’t run up to me and hug me out of the blue.
At least ask first...”
While there were still a few hours to go, it was safe to say that Toshinori survived April Fool’s Day fairly well and he was relieved about that fact.
“Anyone else alive? Because I might as well be undead at this point.”
“I’m used to presents showing up at my doorstep ever since fans had figured out my birthday, but uh...
I can’t get out of my apartment--”
“There’s just too much to do and not enough time...”
((Heeeey, I’m back! Things are going to start off a bit slow, but I’ll try to stick around.))
Walking down the street, a basket and a bucket of water in hand, Toshinori hummed to himself as he occasionally glanced around. There were many little stores busy with people coming in searching for gifts for their mothers as well as cafes and restaurants filled with laughter with the many families chatting away at their respective tables.
Smiling warmly at the happy atmosphere of the day, the blond continued on his walk until he eventually reached a fenced in area, gateway unlocked and open. Making his way inside, he followed down a small stone path while passing by others who were visiting for the same reason as he was.
Eventually, he came upon what he was looking for.
A gravestone.
Carefully setting the basket down as well as the bucket, he opened it to retrieve a dipper before dipping it into water and gently bringing it up to gently pour it over the gravestone. Once done, he set the dipper aside and reached inside the basket again to pull out a small blanket and spread it out in front of the grave.
Kneeling down on it, he bowed his head.
“Hello, mother. I hope you and father are doing well. The weather turned out wonderfully for today and I thought that I would bring along a picnic for us.”
Glancing over to the basket, he let out a soft laugh.
“I even tried to mimic one of your recipes, but I don’t think I got it quite right. Despite how well I can cook, I’m never able to get your recipes to taste how you used to make them.”
Pausing for a small moment, he looked back up at the gravestone with a soft, sad smile.
“Happy Mother’s Day... I still miss you.”
“I’ve finally managed to escape my apartment.
I still can’t believe that I was trapped inside by presents of all things.”
