Totally Not Arson || Open
The matchbook had been staring him in the face for like an hour now. Or maybe it had only been, like, five minutes, but it totally felt like an hour, and Flint was not a happy camper at the moment. Anxiously, he drummed his fingers against the top of the matchbook as he fiddled with it in the other, opening it slightly only to close it a second later.
"Fliiiiinnnttt," he mumbled to himself, "Fliiiinnnttttt, this is why you're here in the first plaaaacccceeeee..... Don't you fucking dare do this again Fliiiinnnt...." His motivational speech to himself worked pretty well, all things considered. You know. For like maybe four seconds. And a half, if he was being generous with himseld.
With a hasty 'screw it' muttered under his breath, Flint decided that himself from four and a half seconds ago was a total asshole who didn't know what the hell he was talking about, and swiftly slid the matchbook open, taking one of the matches and striking it against the side of the box. His eyes brightened considerably when the little flame sprung to life, flickering delicately as he peered closely at it. It wasn't arson as long as he didn't set the base on fire, right? So this was perfectly fine, even if the flame was a little too small for his tastes. Well... maybe it wasn't arson as long as only a little bit of the base got set on fire. And technically he would only be setting a single bit on fire, the rest would just happen naturally, and that wouldn't be his fault, right?
Flint was in the process of turning around to go find something flammable when he noticed that someone had been standing not too far off behind him, and frowning, Flint stopped in his tracks and stared at them for a long moment, then stared down at the tiny flame at the end of the matchstick, and back up to the other agent. "So, I know this looks not good," he said after a moment, "but it's totally not arson, swear to Arceus."
