Just when I thought I had seen it all – check out this baby snake’s incredible deformity; it has three functioning eyes! The deformity, categorized as “diprosopus” (also known as craniofacial duplication), is an extremely rare congenital disorder where parts of the face get duplicated. It has been documented in many types of animals, including (but not limited to) cats, pigs, cows, sheep, goats, birds, fish, reptiles, and even humans. The juvenile carpet python was found slithering across a road in the northern Australian town of Humpty Doo. Sadly, it died after only a month in captivity.
