[ marker meme ] Sam grinned. This was payback for the last seventeen million things James had broken and the constant danger the kid put himself in. With a baby blue marker he wrote 'adorable godchild bby face' on Jame's forehead and a bunch of stars and cat whiskers and things that would certainly be deemed embarrassing whenever he woke up.

Being such a heavy sleeper, James hadn’t even the slightest clue that someone was writing on his face. It wasn’t until about ten minutes later when he woke up that he realized something was amiss. 

Walking groggily through the hallway, he stopped–taking a double take when he caught a bit of his reflection in the mirror. With a pout, he read the words, spinning around on his heel. There could only be one culprit. Sam was supposed to be babysitting James- and was the only one in the house.

With vengeance in mind, he took off down the hallway. “Sam! You better run!"

"Rogers!" He caught the boy in his arms with a sign. Just like his father, pushing himself more than necessary. "I got ya, kid. I’m takin’ you to a doctor."

The boy blinked, tilting his head up upon realizing he wasn't standing upright anymore. "Oh, hey Sam." He greeted the man lazily. "When did you get here?" James shook his head, hoping that would make the world stop spinning. "I don't need a doctor, just give me a minute, I...do this all the time?"
