Well they’ve said a few different times for the hiatus to start including Dec 31 and March. But today is the last scheduled live appearance for them and their team keeps mentioning how they’ve reached the end so I’m gonna go with yes.

Well they kind of are. 1D Zayn was super controlled. He was promoted as being a certain way. For a long time he was the “mysterious, broody, arty” one. It wasn’t reality. By his own admission he was never mysterious. Was he broody? Maybe but not to the extent we were meant to believe. He is arty but we only saw the watered down version of what he could do.

The Zayn we’re getting now is a lot closer to the truth I think. He’s certainly far more active on Twitter than he ever was before and he’s speaking his mind in a way he was never able to. I kind of almost view him as a kid in college finally getting a sense of independence and testing the waters of what he can do. I’m not going to knock on him for finally being able to express himself but I also don’t condone everything he’s doing and saying. And I don’t have to. Everyone has a bits you like and bits you don’t. Doesn’t make them a bad person.

I’m hoping since Zayn’s now finally in a seemingly good place we’ll be seeing the better parts of him and not the parts that are still harboring some resentment of what he wasn’t able to say for the past ~5 years.
