“ FUCK OFF, GREEN BITCH. ” words, neither clear nor horrifically slurred, are spoken too loudly, and an unsteady middle finger is raised in defiance, not to luke, but to the idea of going to bed at all. the night is young (it’s only two in the morning ) and the rain hasn’t stopped outside, and he’s not sure he’s far enough gone to let himself sleep. there needs to be pain the next morning, agony through his body. his memories need to be gone, and he needs to concern himself with finding them. where had the marginally more sober jameson hidden the alcohol covertly purchased, lest his host toss it out like he had everything else? a frustrated line appears between his brows, and one hand traces the wall for steadiness as he moves towards a likely location.
“ it’s not time for that yet. i still —- shit! ” he stubs his toe, but moves on without further complaint, “ you see, it’s a process. you have to drink until you forget.half - assing it is just cowardice, and i ain’t a coward. ” so brazen is he that the colloquialism, absent the usual cursing, would have seemed measured, had he not been stumbling, limping now from his sore toe, toward the kitchen. “ you should have a drink too. loosen up. ”
HE DOESN’T LIKE THE GESTURE OR THE CURSES UNSTEADILY TOSSED AT HIM, he doesn’t like that the source of such things is not the marred mind, but one that simply doesn’t care, but they’re disregarded in favor of following the wavering form clinging to the wall for support. he doesn’t offer his hand, nor an arm for balance, but remains by his guest’s side.
“ you know what I think? ” luke circles around in front of the other, walking backward as jameson presses forward, intent on drowning himself in poison apparently stashed somewhere in this house and luke wants to know why. jameson just said it himself ‘until you forget’, which is nothing luke didn’t already know, but if he tries to pretend like replacing his blood with alcohol is for fun, luke won’t be fooled. “ I think you’re afraid of what happens when you don’t drink. cowardice isn’t not drinking jameson. that would be very brave indeed. ” and bravery is in the question he poses absent of any waver in his tone. “ what are you trying to forget, jameson? ”
