Can't believe I didn't think to add this one, it's brilliant!!

I can just see Mav doing some yee-haw dumb pilot shit in the skies and Ice sighing in fond exasperation on the ground at him. Once he lands, Ice gives him a kiss and murmurs against his lips thats he's the Navys local bad boy but he's Ices hotshot pilot. Mav just grins smugly cause he knows he's just gotten away with his cowboy antics again.

During their older golden era, when Ice is COMPACFLT, he likes to call Mav his hotshot, just to see Mav blush at the reminder of his youth. Ice pretends not to see Mavs little smile at still getting away with all the dumb shit he pulls

hey! i loved the petnames post so much, i’m so in for it when people discuss these tiny details for a ship (maverick calling ice tommy makes my heart melt every time, and also menace and icicle made me giggle so much). just wanted to let you know that in italian it’s actually “cuore mio”, with an “e” (people also use only “amore” and “cuore” a lot when referring to their loved ones), and that красотка is, in fact, a word to describe a girl (fun fact: it’s how they translated “pretty woman”, the title of the movie with julia roberts and richard gere) but it doesn’t really matter imo (if you want, красавец is the russian word for “handsome”). i guess it’s A Day to be italian-russian, lmao.
