In my turn I took request from @zeondraws and made this simple and funny picture with Kade Burns from Rescue Bots cartoon. You know, I like Transformers♡
We found this cool shared space at the Wasteland lobby.
Someone did an amazing job decorating the empty room! It felt like we were in a real living room. We watched the ending of the Two Embers Part 1 movie, which moved me to tears again. Thank you, kind stranger — I sent you a heart 🩷
Bad news. Took bonni to the vet and she immediately crashed. They called it “fading kitten syndrome” or something along the lines of that. Her body temp was too cold and she’s very weak. She won’t make it more than 30 minutes. Thank you to everyone who made suggestions and comments. Sorry for the bad update. I’m sitting at the vet office crying my eyes out right now.
I wanna know!!!!! what is orryx’s opinion of his companions!!
I haven't thought too much about it in all honesty. Which I suppose means now's the time 💪
Expanding on this based on the way he interacts with them in-game so far.
Origin Characters:
Wyll:
Orryx sees a lot of his younger self in Wyll, and admires the fact that he keeps a level head on his shoulder despite his fame. He also respects him as a man for telling off his own patron after it's revealed that Karlach isn't a fiend in his hunt for her.
Orryx's amnesia blocks it out, but when they met, Wyll revealed he and Orryx had known each other before. They had both served in the Flaming Fist, and when Wyll was openly mocked by other Fist for being a horrible soldier, Orryx was one of the few that remained kind to him, or at least, didn't actively ridicule him. Wyll looked up to him for it.
Neither of them know it, but a lot of that was because Wyll's bumbling performance as a Fist made it a lot easier for Orryx to get away with kills in Bhaal's service.
Still, learning this about his history with Wyll, Orryx feels the need to better himself and be the man Wyll saw in him all those years ago. Even helps him manage his horns, after his transformation.
Gale:
Orryx enjoys what seems to be a mostly one-sided friendship with the wizard. He allows the Gale to tell his stories as he trains, sharpens his weapons, etc.... it makes for excellent white noise. However, he doesn't often engage in anything more than shallow conversation with the man. Gale's interests and ambitions in life align with nothing of his own, and while he would listen when Gale told him of them, Gale rarely extends the same courtesy. Orryx finds him to be a powerful ally and decent cook, but exhausting to be around.
Karlach:
From an objective standpoint, Orryx holds a solid respect for Karlach, considering her backstory. He's somewhat offput by her characteristic optimism, but she forces him to have a different perspective on situations he wouldn't have considered otherwise.
Orryx also finds her to be the most capable sparring partner in camp. They have a running tradition of the loser of a spar revealing a war story. She's yet to put two and two together that the amnesiac is making every single one of his up. (He'll make up for it when he gets his memory back.)
Laezel:
Lae'zel is one of the people Orryx is closest to. Her battle prowess and often violent solutions to problems earned his respect quickly. He finds Lae'zel's inability to connect with others comforting. In his past, he's killed everyone he's ever gotten close to, and while his mind may not remember that, his body does. So the gith's aggressive approach to situations and admiration for his battle skills lead to the two taking council from one another often. Conversation rarely gets personal, which both of them prefer. They also sleep together on more than one occasion, knowing they share the same 'no-strings-attached' mentality.
After the events at the gith creche, however, strings did indeed start to show up. Seeing that her entire world and belief system had crumbled around her, Orryx found himself caring about her well-being afterward. Lae'zel may be the first real friend Orryx has had in over 20 years.
Shadowheart:
Orryx finds Shadowheart to be incredibly naive. Her blind faith without thinking critically about the situation irritates him, and combined with her distaste for Lae'zel in the early days, that puts her in pretty low standing with him. Her methods of conversation and taking constant jabs at him makes him see her as immature, and he rarely spoke to her.
As they're currently going through the Shadow-Cursed lands and discovering more about one another, however, he has started to see her in more of an 'annoying little sister' light. Orryx seems annoyed every time she speaks, but he also will not let anything happen to her. Her Sharran worship does not bother him for reasons unknown to him.
Astarion:
At first, Orryx found Astarion's overly flirtatious and generally over-the-top methods of speaking with everyone to be insufferable. Still, as Astarion's silver tongue gained them access to places even the sword wouldn't have granted them, he began to earn Orryx's higher regard. With his backstabbing in battle and selfish acts, Orryx came to realize that despite his way with people, Astarion never got personal. The exact same thing that drew him to Lae'zel drew him to Astarion.
As well as Astarion's beauty. He does not find Astarion's vanity irritating, because he believes it justified.
On more than one occasion he caught himself staring the elf up and down. And on more than one occasion, he caught Astarion staring back.
When Orryx awoke to find Astarion crouched over him, poised to strike, he thought he was there for an entirely different purpose. Until Astarion practically outed himself in trying to explain himself, and Orryx finally put the pieces together that this man was a vampire.
But still, despite his better judgement, he let Astarion feed on him. In truth, the blood of Bhaal in his veins ironically made the idea of said blood being spilled incredibly enticing, and regardless of his years Orryx thought with his dick instead of his brain. Astarion went too far and drained him completely, killing him.
In-game, anyone can revive the player character if this happens. In Orryx's canon though, Astarion revives him himself, claiming he valiantly used the Scroll he was saving in case he himself was killed. A lie, of course. And not a great one. Orryx knew his own is missing from his pack.
Still, the act of reviving him at all saves Astarion from a solid beating, and Orryx gives him one chance to explain himself. His story about slaving away to a higher power, having no autonomy over himself, hit home for the tiefling, again for reasons he didn't know or remember.
This led to Orryx taking a new curiosity to the elf, and the two began engaging in actual conversation. Now paying more attention to him, Astarion's ability to make a joke out of near any issue also tugged at Orryx's heartstrings for reasons he couldn't place. He'd learn eventually that same carefree attitude reminded him of his late wife of over two decades ago.
When Astarion approached him proposing sexual relief, Orryx found that he couldn't turn him down.
The conversation the following morning about Cazador, and learning even more about Astarion, made Orryx sympathize with him even more. All of these party members had some sort of higher power domineering over them, but Astarion had it forced violently upon him. In the same way Bhaal had with Orryx.
With an emotional and now physical connection with Astarion, Orryx found himself wanting to protect the vampire.
So, essentially, falling right into Astarion's trap.
We're in Act 2 with their story now, just before they have the chance to get any deeper with their relationship. We'll see how this goes.

Thanks for asking about em all, I loved getting to flesh things out a bit more.
