Elegant 1890 townhouse for sale in Philadelphia, PA. 5bds, 4.5ba, 5,241sqft, $1.9m.

Here's the entrance foyer and I can see that they have a security alarm system.

I like the architecture in the hall.

It has huge rooms, and looks like it could use a good cleaning and some new wallpaper in the sitting room.

This makes it look like a banquet venue.

Love the wallpaper and gorgeous chandelier in the dining room.

Not sure if the blue cabinets are built-ins, but they're there to stay. The fireplace could use some cleaning and a screen.

The galley kitchen is freshly painted and has an attractive backsplash.

Oddly, I don't see a stove. Maybe they took the cooktop.

This must be the primary bedroom. I think it looks pretty good.

The closet is in this room. It must be a sitting room or maybe they use it as a dressing room. There's also a sun room.

This is the 2nd room where they finished the floor around the area rug. Anyway, this library has lovely wood paneling and shelving. Plus, it's huge.

Vintage bath. Look at the fancy draperies.

This bedroom is kind of creepy. It needs repainting and the carpet has to go. But, it's also a big room. The rooms in this house are so oversized.

Here's a newer bath- Like '60s new. Nice blue tub, though.

The town home extends to the next block on a 1,307sqft lot. Why did the house turn green in the back, it's not copper, is it? Anyway, there's no yard at all, and the only parking is on the street. But, it looks like there's a garage door, (it's not), it can be made into a garage. It's a gigantic mansion, but it needs cleaning, and some work, plus I don't know how the parking situation is. I like it, but I'm not sure that it's worth $1.9m.

I love finding updates. This "artsy" 1903 town home in Chicago, IL finally sold last month after having been on & off the market since 2021. The 2bd, 3ba, 2,275sqft home sold for $670k (Original asking price $750k.) It's unusual and was renovated right down to the studs.

Double stained glass front doors.

Open to a colorful foyer with Van Gogh's "Starry Night" on the wall. Note the large medallion in the floor tile.

Off to the side is my favorite mural- a partial "Morton Salt Girl."

There's a balcony above.

Nice living room with a bright orange feature wall.

It's an L-shaped space with the kitchen off to the side in a corner. A columned arch and open indoor "windows" open to a foyer with doors to a terrace.

Beautiful blue hi-end stove with a tile mural backsplash. The curved ceiling has a very well-done mural of clouds.

The home was likely reconfigured, b/c the fireplace is now located near the kitchen.

There's a corner that can fit a writing table. You can see the small terrace thru the doors. The lot is only 912sqft.

The stairs in the living room lead up to an open sleep loft. If you don't need the extra bedroom it could be something else.

I think that the art across the way is painted onto the wall. Also note the painted ceiling.

It has an ensuite with a doorway shaped like the bulbous onion dome of Indo-Islamic architecture. (Notice where the shower controls are on the side of the wall.)

The light over the toilet is set into a keyhole style niche.

Check out this mosaic shower. I thought that it was a tub, too, but it's not.

The tub is here, by a stained glass window. The sink is just a simple table w/open shelves and a tile counter.

Bedroom #2 is located in the basement. You can see the painted old brick walls and high windows.

It has a closet and door to the bathroom.

It has its own ensuite.

The brick wall extends into the shower.

There's a rec room down here that has the washer/drying in the corner.

The 3rd bath is a shower room.
