By damming three tributaries in Easthampton, Massachusetts - the Broad Brook, White Brook and Wilton Brook, the mills thrived. The pond was named after Samuel Williston's company, The Nashawannuck Manufacturing Company, makers of the popular "elastic suspenders". Samuel Williston also founded the Williston-Northampton School, a private school located near the town center. The pond was the hub of activity for many families who grew up enjoying the pond for fishing, ice skating, boating and swimming. The pond was eventually purchased by the town of Easthampton. Easthampton is a city in Hampshire County, in the state of Massachusetts. The city is on the southeastern edge of the Pioneer Valley near the five colleges in the college towns of Northampton and Amherst. Easthampton was first settled by European immigrants beginning in 1664 and was originally part of Northampton. In 1785, the village of Easthampton was formally named its own separate political entity, and in 1809, it officially became a town.—This image was processed as an HDR (High Dynamic Range) composition. https://www.fmgphoto.com/Travel/Attractions/i-9vSRR6F https://followingmygps.com/easthampton-massachusetts/ #Nashawannuck #NashawannuckPond #EasthamptonMassachusetts #EasthamptonMA #townsofinstagram #autumncolors #autumnleaves #autumnnewengland #massachusettsautumn #autumnfall #fallcolors #fallcolor #discoveramerica #travelpics #travellife #travelinspiration #travelblog #travelphotography #fmgphoto #followingmygps #travelphotography #traveller #photography #travelamerica #lifestyle #LifeWellLived #travelmagazine #roadtripping #exploring #roadtrip (at Easthampton, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFm18v-sctN/?igshid=1lqd8c026y3t
