Toxic has actually played a pretty consistent role in my cut Sonar comic; hes tasked with keeping an eye on Sonar early on in the Red Ring because the Megabat poses no threat to him and Shroud trusts him, and then Toxic and Sonar actually sorta become friends because they end up spending so much time together and start fooling around. Then later after the game events Toxic breaks out of prison and seeks Sonar out because he thinks Sonar betrayed the Red Ring during the fight. WHICH IS DEBATABLE... but they can argue about that later.
I didn't want it to distract from mechabat so I had it played off as a "but why TOXIC of all people," goof. Otherwise Robert doesn't care. But... also... mmm jealous Robert tracking down Toxic by himself under the guise of "he needs to go back to prison" but actually he just wants to beat the absolute tar out of Toxic mmmm

MMMM Robert's fear of a repeat of Shroud killing his dad, in the form of Shrouds underling hurting someone he loves. Roberts fear of being a burden and his guilt of feeling like he's controlling Sonar and putting him in this shitty life just so Sonar can "be good", Robert might as well be his personal warden. When Sonar and Toxic could abscond to another country and live their rich criminal dream life where Sonar isn't controlled and criticized daily....
Of course none of this is true. Sonar thinks Robert is kind and understanding towards him and Sonar has spent his entire adulthood in and out of prison** and being an insufferable jerk that only makes enemies he WANTS to be a better person. And Toxic and Sonar aren't even interested in eachother romantically. Robert is spiraling and he's gonna take it out on Toxic. 🥰
**canonically Sonar's dossier has him in prison for a few years immediately out of college, and then in and out of prison for the next decade. Along with a recent muder charge that would have kept him in prison for over another decade if he hadn't joined the Phoenix Program.
I was originally doing all the toxic subplots for myself but a lot of people liked my toxbat art here and on twatter sooooo idk I'll probably include it :3c
Edit***** for the record these are pretty self contained things either way, it's not like toxic will become a constant presence in my mechabat art. If I ever get shit done there would be a toxic specific arc that you could literally cut out and still enjoy the mechabat-only parts.
Oh boy toxbat....but how can i make this even more toxic and about mechabat. What if toxic whispering to sonar that they'll give robert to him as some sort of "reward" when they win or during a railing session where things are getting boring so toxic is like geez just imagine me as robertson or smth and the intensity immediately rises up and toxic is sore in the morning. toxic doesnt know wether to be offended or not

I LOOVVE Toxic promising Sonar rewards, especially ones his ass cannot keep--even tho it seems Shroud does end up letting Sonar have a shot at Robert in that final battle Toxic still isn't the one to offer it. Sonar fuckin him rough is very good Toxic is so easily bored and will be bratty about it frrrrr, but also Ive been rotating how Toxic can heal from pretty severe injuries in my head all week and I think Sonar getting mad and horny and riled up would lead to him shifting and it's all sooo overwhelming he just sorta bites down n snaps what's between his teeth and doesn't let go until it starts burning his mouth 😋
