Numark Orbit
One thing that is sad about any type of gear convention for DJs and production artists is that much of the gear that we get to test and play with won’t be around on shelves for a good amount of time. Unless you are a well known artist who is already used to getting free stuff shipped to your door, you can’t expect to get your hands on a new objected before the rest of us do. Numark’s Orbit pops up again in another review, and even though it has been glossed over before, some important points should be reiterated. First of all, it looks like a toy. It was designed to look like a toy above all else – let’s get that out of the way. Once you clear your head of the controller “checklist” that is clouding your thoughts, you may begin to realize what this means for DJs and controllerists. Utility is important, but fun is also important within your setup. Having a small wireless controller may be that extra edge you need to add something new (instead of trying to make huge changes in your routine). We should expect to see more playful items being produced at an economical price. http://www.ohdratdigital.com/gear-news/numark-orbit/#more-5424
