Toyarohco Spotlight 

Here's a set of drawings I did while trying to get a character design for Toy here. I want him to have a recognizable look and features but him mantaining his animal attributes is very important for the story and character as a whole, so I wanted to come up with something that would allow him to emote and express well without getting to human like, avoiding stuff like Simba's human like eye brows, stuff like that and I think I found it. I am pretty happy with this set of designs for him and I think I'll go with it. This piece also shows a concept I plan to use for inner thoughts, which is shown in the middle. I want to be able to have inner monologues be an option but I want their to be a clear indication that is happening in a stylized way, so this is what I am consider doing, basically the panel will go black and white with the characters eyes and highlights being colored in a specific color for that character. In Toy's case, that will be yellow. This is my first attempt at capturing that and I am happy with it, I'll play around with the other characters as well and see how they look too.
