I desperately need akito toya and kotaro to form a polycule

where akitoya happens first and kotaro whose lowkey (highkey) in love with akito kinda sheds a tear but is really respectful and happy for them but then toya pulls up to weekend garage one day when they're closing and is like 'Ik ur in love with akito.' and kotaro is shitting his pants thinking toya hates his ass

(side rant i dont think toya would never hate anyone that likes akito tbh not even if hes jealous hes definately the type to be like yeah ik my bf is so cool and adorable but he is MY bf)

Anyway but in this case instead toya with a neutral face is like 'do you wanna join' and kotaros like 'HUH. WHAT.' and toya's a little embarrassed but he's like 'yeah he kinda likes you too' and kotaros is standing there in disbelief looking like shocked akito

and after a moment of awkward silence kotaro goes 'and youre ok with this??? Does he know about this??' toya looks at him smiles a bit and goes "yes. Im sure." kotaros now blushing thinking wait hes really cute as well and so hes like "You know what hell yeah" and then um idk akito pops out of the woodworks and they all kiss and becomes vivid street's most iconic polycule

Dragon Ball Super (Dragon Ball Chou) 🐉

This is a little message by Toyataro inside vol.5 of Dragon Ball Super, released on March 2 in Japan 📄

"On one of my bad draft, I received correction by Toriyama Sensei that said <<I think that what makes Dragon Ball unique is the way to think about simple things and can make them difficult in a second time>> Sensei, I imagine that's this what makes differences between a genius and common authors. I work so hard to make this distance less long. Toyataro."

What I love of Toyataro is his modesty and the fact that he considers himself a Dragon Ball fan already, even after becoming an author 😊

Since Toriyama-sempai's unfortunate passing, I have been DREADING the news of a revival of Dragon Ball. Probably not what people were expecting, but I just legitimately don't want any OFFICIAL Dragon Ball works that Toriyama didn't have his hands in SOME way.

It's not that I think everyone else is simply incapable of making good DB material; I just don’t think it would have the same flair. Like I've said forever that no one (or very few) people can write for Goku except Toriyama (Super being a prime example). I also don't think people would take it in the direction that Toriyama would, given his unique approach to writing and storytelling.

So, unless he left an outline, I really don’t care to see what Toya or Toei come up with (even though there's really only one arc left to tell....and I want to see how Toriyama would do, and no one else).

Like, I know it's going to happen regardless cause "money"; I just REALLY wish it wouldn’t. UNLESS it's like Heroes, video games, or movies. I'm chill with anything people can't argue as "canon".

HOWEVER...

I just realized while rereading the last chapters of Super.....I actually would LOVE for Toya to do a full manga just following Trunks, Goten, and maybe some Maron thrown in there.

I know a lot of people, myself included, give Toya a hard time, and while I DO think he does need improvement on certain aspects of art and writing (sir, it is VERY clear you love Vegeta and hate Goku...), I try not to just absolutely shit on him. Art is hard. Art is harder when you're trying to live up to legacy (and what a fucking legacy Dragon Ball is). And the man CLEARLY has love for the series.

But I think he'd actually kill it at a story focusing on the younger cast. The school chapters are truly fun and enjoyable, if not a little too Trunks centered, imo (again....the favoritism shows and that's a problem). Toya, I feel, could relate and portray the younger generation a bit better than Toriyama, who by his own admission was pretty old fashioned in addition to just being older. It would give Trunks and Goten some MUCH needed and overdue development. We can get some member berries of Gohan's highschool arc that was entirely too short.

Idk I think that would be the breath of fresh air that DB fans would enjoy.
