random lore drop for another OC in my little universe (I'm still working on) Octavia Burke (née Black)
Born into the venerable House of Black, Octavia was married off to the Burke family shortly after graduating from Hogwarts — against her will. Her marriage is cold, loveless, and entirely transactional. But that hardly bothers her. Through her husband’s business, Borgin and Burkes, Octavia gained something far more valuable than affection: freedom.
While her husband remains buried in ledgers and dust in Knockturn Alley, Octavia roams across Europe — haunting dark markets, private collections, and forbidden auctions in search of cursed and rare artifacts.
It was at one of these auctions that she crossed paths with Zacharias Boniface, envoy of Augustina Montague. Both bid for the same item — and though who took it home remains a mystery, the encounter sparked a professional alliance built on sharp wit, subtle rivalry, and mutual gain. Octavia became one of Zacharias’s key informants on the underground trade of magical artifacts.
After the events of Cassandra’s fifth year at Hogwarts, Octavia reemerges in the shadows — seeking out Sebastian Sallow, now living in hiding. She knows of the curse that still binds his sister, Anne… a curse born from the very man who still owes her a debt. And she offers Sebastian a deal he cannot refuse.

After Zacharias has received orders from Cass to find Anne, he visits Ominis to find out her whereabouts - by somewhat unsubtle measures.

This post is the overkill post, and I’m already apologising for it :D
I’ve been asked more than once about the timeline of my HC posts. So, here it comes. In a neat list.
Honestly, putting this list together was helpful for me as well — partly for the sake of organisation, but also to realize what I’ve created over time. And I genuinely didn’t expect this much to come out of it.
I’ve tried to map out all the timelines that have developed within my universe — The Pursuit of Equilibrium — over the years. It can be mainly sorted into:
before Hogwarts > 5fth Year Storyline > Dark Seb storyline.
I could add dates and years, but I don't see the need to go into that much detail atm. Maybe I'll do that one day, if I'm bored enough :D
Because I'm a jack of all trades, you'll see a little icon in front of the chapters/ scenes. They stand for
