"Hey Duet, I have a question for you. Well recently this grey creature has been visiting me and telling me about a man who's out of place yet no one remembers his face. Apparently he came into the bookstore at some point so, I'm asking if you remember a man out of the ordinary who came in at some point during the past week."
The bookkeeper tilted their head at Vivi’s question, staring off at the ceiling, thinking...
Out of the ordinary? With a face that couldn’t be remembered? Hmmm, well, that made them think...well, most of the humans that had come in were pretty normal, and although their faces did blur together after several long days of work, they couldn’t remember seeing a man that stood out by having a truly unrememberable face...and the non-human entities that had entered the shop were nothing out of the ordinary, either: that werewolf from downtown came in and got his usual comic books, that vampire tried to get in again (unsuccessfully), and they had given that fae the spellbook he had been looking for...no, nothing out of the ordinary on that front either, to their recollection.
“Not that I can remember, Vivi...a grey creature has been speaking to you, though, huh?”
Their eye focused on her, a slight smile crossing their face.
“Sounds...dangerous. I’ve been told that such creatures are treacherous.”
Their smile faltered a little, their expression changing to one of almost parental concern.
“Do be careful, Vivi, alright? And if this creature gives you any trouble, be aware that this is a...safe place.”
They gave a small, reassuring nod, inwardly feeling much concern: an anon, messing with Vivi? Well, that was the conclusion they jumped to, judging from the description of the being that was supposedly speaking to her, trying to glean information...
Such an anon would do well not to put the woman in danger, however...especially on Duet’s watch.
