Did you like The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton? Was there romance in it?
I did! It was one of my favourite reads of 2017. It’s a very well-structured mystery involving a wide range of characters, with a hint of magical realism about it. There is a love story amidst all that’s happening (and I would say it’s central to the plot), however, romance is not something that’s delved into much.
