But does it really matter? Esp when the base origin took it from Disney?

People need to stop using bases and ‘free’ backgrounds to make birthdaygifts..Honestly..I’m preeeetty sure every Artist (including me and literally everyone I know) prefers a unique, selfmade gift, no matter if you are a pro or a beginner at drawing..as long you put effort into it, it’s gonna be a great gift.

The problem lies with the artist receiving the base as a ‘gift’. If they keep encouraging it, they’re gonna continue doing it. That’s why I don’t accept traced base recolors on movie backgrounds or traced bases at all as gift art. I encourage fans to draw their gift, to put heart into their work instead of recoloring something. And no matter how unskilled they are, I tell them that I love their gift because they put pure hard work effort into it and I truly appreciate it. Plus it gives them motivation to work at drawing more. And I’ve not received one base recolor like, at all.

This isn’t Scar, this is a supah-originul OC a daughter of Scar that looks exactly like him (even has the same scar!) “because genetics”.

I’m currently in the process of talking sense into the “character”’s owner. Copying desingns is nothing but theft.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. No wait. A Mheetu that looks like this with two added scars over the original one is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.

Decided to try and see if Midnighttrixie03′s ‘bases’ were viable. They’re shit! They’re absolutely shit! You can’t do anything with these horrendously traced originul the screenshots donut steel! 

Who’d want to steal these things? You can’t be productive with them at all! And she’s gatekeeping fucking screenshots doing this!

I really don’t think MidnightTrixie03 understands how to make bases. Their idea of making bases is tracing over screenshots, then posting them as a base. Thaaaat makes it hard for base users to fillbucket.

Woah what a great OC. She totally does not look like a Recolored Kiara from the second movie!

Isn’t that a puma? How can it be a lion king OC if it’s an American species? These people can’t seem to think these things through. 

And honestly? I don’t have a problem with OCs that have been made on a traced base. I’ve occasionally used bases to test color palettes for OCs myself. And I’ve seen some pretty OCs be made on bases. It’s the kool-aid vomit and the extreme over the top design OCs that hurt my eyes.
