The Grand Palace, Bangkok: The Grand Palace in Bangkok is very famous site to visit for the tourists. This palace was built in 1782 and Thai kings used to stay here until 1930s. The architecture is beautiful, but tourists are not allowed to go inside, even not allowed to go close to it. You have to stand almost 50 m away to see the outskirts of this building. For that you have to pay 500 THB (nearly 20 USD). For me it was not worth of it. 20 USD for watching outskirts of a building. You can watch that in videos and photos on internet. I suggest not to visit if you are on a tight budget. If you are willing to spend 20 USD for that, your choice. Note: Men and women have to be properly dressed to enter here. You must have your body covered. No shorts are allowed. Temple of Emerald Budha is also in the same premises. How to reach there: Catch Bangkok BRT Siam line and reach Safron Taksin station.
