y'all I JUST realized a potential second meaning to The Lake's chorus.

"those Windermere peaks look like a perfect place to cry,"

first just made me think of sitting on a rock on a hill and staring out at everything and having a good cry—and that could absolutely be what she's saying, but there's something else. what is "cry" another word for? scream. and what song also references screaming?

"stood on the cliffside, screaming 'give me a reason,'" - hoax

so she could also be saying that "those Windermere peaks look like a perfect place to scream," to scream out into the nothing and ask for a reason, for a sign, for anything.

she managed to say the same thing, without saying the same thing. that's pretty cool if you ask me
