The workout was a mile warmup, 800, 800, 1600, 800, 800, mile cooldown, and the name of the game was consistency. It doesn't do anything if I sprint the first one and burn out, or if I conserve for the last one and beat everyone and crush my first time, but then not have put in enough effort for the first ones. I had a running buddy the whole time which made it SO much easier. We stuck together, and at least one of a was always keeping pace, so if the other fell behind, they could push to keep up. It's SO nice to have someone to push me/keep pace with, and it makes everything much more consistent. The times were: 800: 3.14 800: 3.11 1600: 7.01 800: 3.18 800: 3.10 So pretty consistent, and I was happy with that. I probably could've pushed harder on the mile and the last 800 (I had this burst of energy, but I held back to keep a consistent pace with my teammate), but otherwise I feel really good about it :)
