WoW TSM Legion Profession Groups

At the insistence of @grumpybeardruid​ I’m sharing my TSM profession groups for WoW. This should be every (worthwhile) tradeskill item in the game.

Is there a tradeskillmaster guide for like Five year olds Because i have tried to understand it and its just like when i look at every guide im like 'i am a simple farmer what is this sorcery' and it makes me wanna give up i dont understand how this is supposed to make my goldmaking easier or faster

TradeSkillMaster Tutorial (part 2)

With TSM installed, whenever you open up your crafting window you'll see a green button on top of it that says Open TSM Crafting Window. Click on this button.

This is your Restock Queue, where TSM sorts the goods you can make in the order of their priority. Goods with the highest priority are goods for which you have the materials, and they're sorted in order of highest profit. When you first start crafting, you won't have any profit margins because you haven't sold anything. Once you start selling things, you can take a look at what's going to make you the most profit and queue that in first.

Now we go to the auction house. By default, TSM will cover the default auction house interface - but that's okay, because it's miles better than the default interface anyway. The first thing you'll need to do is run a Get All Scan. This can be done by clicking on Run Scan and then Run GetAllScan. You will need to reload your UI immediately upon completing the scan. Then, click on Post Auctions. It will let you know whether you're undercutting competition, whether the market is below your threshold, etc. Simply click on the Post button to post your auction and it will automatically undercut the competition by 1c. If any item pops up that you don't want to list, simply click Skip Item. When you're done posting, it will tell you the incoming value of your auctions (provided they all sell).

One of the most important things to do in order to really make gold with TSM is to monitor your auctions. As frequently as you're able while playing, visit the auction house and click on the Cancel Auctions button. TSM will tell you in bright red, "You have been Undercut." If this is the case, simply click Cancel at the bottom to cancel the auction, pick it up out of the mail, and re-list.

The search interface has also changed. On the right-hand side, you'll see a list of every item currently in your inventory. If you want to post auctions manually (say, for cloth or leather), simply click on the item in the search pane. It will bring up all auctions currently listed for that item.

I have a ton of Windwool Cloth, so that's what I'll post. I click on Post at the bottom, then click both MAX buttons. You can select your auction duration here, then click post and it will automatically undercut the competition by 1c.

Now we're going to take a quick peek at the Destroying module. Click on Destroying on the left-hand side. For this example we're going to look at things we can turn into dust. Click on Enchanting, then select Dust and Spirit Dust. Then click search. It will bring up every item currently in the auction house that can be disenchanted for Spirit Dust. In the rightmost column you can see whether or not this item is worth it to purchase.

This last screenshot is just another awesome perk of TSM - the Open All button in your mailbox. It does exactly what it says, open all of your mail.

TradeSkillMaster Tutorial (part 1)

Hello followers! As promised, I have composed a tutorial for the auctioning addon, TradeSkillMaster. This is my favorite auctioning addon out of all that I've tried, but I find many people get lost in the setup and end up uninstalling it. With that in mind, here is a screenshot tutorial with in-depth explanations.

First, when installing TSM from Curse, you'll find there are several different modules other than the root module. The ones that are necessary to the functionality of TSM are:

Auctioning

Mailing

Crafting

AuctionDB

Accounting

Shopping

There are a couple other, optional modules. The only one I usually install is Destroying, which is extremely convenient for enchanters, scribes, alchemists and jewelcrafters.

This is what TradeSkillMaster looks like right out of the box. It can be extremely daunting, but don't worry. I will be using my fiance's shaman to demonstrate TSM, so please excuse the UI soup. The first thing we'll need to do is import the patterns we want. Hakozu is a Jewelcrafter, so we'll click on the Jewelcrafting tab on the bottom of TSM.

The first time you open your crafting window, you will most likely have to run a full scan of your profession in order for TSM to load the patterns into its database.

If you expand the "Crafts" category on the left-hand side, you will see your profession categories. I started with Red Gems. By default, all patterns will be checked, so you will need to select Uncheck All. Then, place check marks next to current patterns, the ones you would like to craft and sell. Hakozu doesn't have very many rare-quality cuts, so we're going to take the common-quality cuts as well.

Once you have all the patterns you want checked, click on Create Auctioning Groups. The only option you will have to change is to switch "All in Same Group" to "All in Individual Groups." This allows you to set individual override settings on certain patterns rather than lumping all red gem patterns into the same group. 

After you are done putting all the patterns you want into individual groups, then click on the Auctioning Categories/Groups tab in the top left-hand corner of TradeSkillMaster. TSM uses two organizational tools to auction your crafted goods - groups are the thing you craft and categories set the price points. We will need to create categories, then sort our groups into those categories.

Click on Categories/Groups on the left hand side. Then on the right-hand side, click on the Create Category/Group tab. The bottom text box is where you add categories. Simply type in the name of the category - in my case, my first category is named "Lesser Red Cuts" - and press enter. As you can see, all the groups we created are listed as Uncategorized on the left-hand side of our screen.

For this section of the tutorial I realized I forgot to take the necessary screenshots on Hakozu, so I switched over to Miria, my hunter. She is a Leatherworker, so her categories are a little bit different. In order to put your groups into categories, simply click on the newly-created category on the left-hand side of your screen. You will see any groups that are uncategorized on the left, with the groups in this category on the right. Simply click on the group and click Add to put that group in the correct category.

After you have all your groups in categories, the next step is to set price points for our categories. Click on the category in question and click on the Category Overrides tab. Most of these options are pretty self-explanatory except the Threshold, Fallback and Reset Method. Threshold is the point below which no profit is being made. If you know off the top of your head what the market price is for your good, you can put in a specific gold amount below which you don't want to sell your product. Otherwise, I encourage you to set to to 85%/% of Auction DB-Market Value. Fallback is the price you post at when you have no competition. I usually set this as a high price for the item, one that people usually wouldn't pay if your auction wasn't the only one available. Reset Method is what TSM does with your good if the price falls below your threshold. Usually I have this set to Don't Post Items, which means TSM won't post your items at all if the market price falls below your threshold.

This concludes part one of the TSM tutorial. So far, we've covered how to sort your patterns into groups and categories as well as how to set the price point for your categories. In the next post we'll take a look at the TSM Crafting window and how to determine which goods to craft, after which we will look at the actual auctioning interface.
