JAMAICA IN THE WORLD Podcast #31 (JAMAICA 60′s)

El número 31 de JAMAICA IN THE WORLD Podcast, está dedicado plenamente a JAMAICA y tengo un no determinado número de asientos disponibles para que abordemos este viaje hacia los años 60. Después de una selección de más de 80 temas, pude (complejamente) condensar el primer volumen que rinde tributo a lo más “primitivo” del SKA  y el Rocksteady. Seleccioné temas comprendidos entre los años 1962 y 1968; el resultado de esa ecuación es un sabroso y exquisito tracklist de Ska Tradicional y Rocksteady. Importante dejarles saber que no pretendo dar aires de catedrático y coleccionista admirable referente a esas grabaciones vintage, en lo absoluto es así… sencillamente quise armar un track list con muchos de mis temas favoritos para compartirles y para además, ofrecerme algo que quería desde hace rato: una selección dada en cuerpo y alma a aquellos años 60 en esa hermosa isla. Siempre es un honor poder leerles, poder saber que disfrutan el podcast y poder brindarles (y brindarme) una nueva edición de JIW. Que le disfruten tanto como yo. Alright..

Alright, seriously. Let me say that I LOOOOVE Streetlight Manifesto. Honestly, they're and amazing band and their music is phenomenal. But it bothers me how many people don't know any Ska bands OUTSIDE of them. Or outside of the "big" Ska bands for that matter. I.e. RBF, SLM, LTJ, catch - 22, Big D, Mad Caddies etc. It's a big world out there. Ska is a huge genre. There's waves, types, types combined and so on. There are so many more Ska bands that are just as good out there if not better. I'm seriously going to figure out how to get songs onto here from every band on my iPod this week. Starting from A - Z - Japanese/any other lettering that I have on here somehow for people to hear. Don't get me wrong, I love the "big" bands just as much as everybody else. Trust me. But I have a very extensive collection, and feel its time to share this with other people that have as much of an interest in Ska as I do. Soon..
