outofMP;; Vivi can cook decently well-- everything he knows, he's learned from his Grandpa. Unfortunately, Quan handled most of the actual cooking part, so Vivi was left with the prep-work. He can chop and dice like no ones business, and remembers an amazing marinade recipe, but when it comes to brass tacks most things either turn out a little overcooked or a bit underdone.
Cooking, itself, is nostalgia. The smells and taste reminds him of his Grandfather. Vivi seems incredibly happy just to be helping cook with someone in the moment, if he steps back away from it and thinks, he ends up a bit sad, and lonely. He misses his Grandpa quite a bit. The smell of garlic and ginger, in particular, is rather depressing for the poor kid.
