Once a year I get to work with & coordinate a special bunch of volunteers on the grandest stage of SA trail running! Few notice them, even fewer get to experience their passion, support, patience & tenacity to get the job done! A thankless job, sometimes welcomed by empty aid stations, far from the crowds & support the runners received! But they venture forth, doing their duty of getting everyone home safe & accounted for! To you, my sweep crews of #utct2019, I salute you! From the 17h cut-off bus hitting those CP splits bang on, to the runner sweeps, and especially the clearing sweeps still out there way after the last runner has headed home! It was a privilege & honour to work with you!
