First Ten Mile Challenge
On Sunday 6th October two members of the Tinseltrekkers team took on their first ten mile walk. Along with a team of other fundraising champions we walked along the beautiful northern coast line, starting from South Beach in Blyth at 11.00am the group walked all the way to the magnificent Tynemouth Priory.
This was no ordinary walk, everyone participating in the walk were raising money for another charity Clic Sargent, who have helped a young boy and his family tremendously with his battle with Leukaemia. His battle is still ongoing but hopefully the huge amount raised on the day will help the charity enormously.
The walk was completed in just over 2 hours which is a little faster than we will be aiming for the day of the Trailtrekker. Both Gemma and Laura took a way some valuable lessons on the day...
1. Gemma discovered that a zip up top is a must!
2. Laura needs to keep her hair out of her face at all costs otherwise she will go stir crazy!
3. Tasks, games and songs will be needed to keep the morale high
All in all the walk was a success, the girls were even keen on a quick snapshot at the end to prove they completed challenge number 1!
