I’ll have you all know that spitting treats is still not working. I manage to not spit on her head grossly but she still has not caught a single treat.

It bounces off her face and then she goes to find it.

On a semi related note Charlie bears taste like cardboard but it’s better than kibble or zukes minis.

We did our first session of a rebound/flyball turn but it was both fantastically fun (ie lots of silliness) and horribly bad (ie im a trash trainer with a smart dog). No video because I chose a bad angle and you can’t see anything. I think I’ll be using my yes marker instead of the clicker. I marked three times wrong, the first time she totally knew what she was doing. Paws on, paws off just like in the flyball turn but I marked when her front paws were on and Ciara started hesitating. The next two times she did some sort of dance on the plataform but it was really fast and I marked wrong again. I want to figure out how to do it slow but she’s so excited that she runs ahead. I think putting something she’s got to jump over like in flyball will help my marking. I also need a non slip surface because the wood is too smooth.

our second session with the trainer went really well! im so happy i found him, he’s v chill and positive and never makes you feel like you did something wrong, only gently corrects your and the dog’s behavior. his wife also works with animals and made us a bach flower mix tailored to kaj’s needs, hopefully it helps him relax a little. overall it’s already been a good experience for both kaj and our family, impatient to see what’s next!

ughhhh third training session was laborious. kaj was so stressed and excited he couldn’t focus very well, he hates being alone so he screamed like a banshee as soon as anyone left the room, he was overall a handful and i dunno i keep realizing how much work it’s going to take for him to even act remotely calm around other people. of course im gonna do it, i want him to get better, i just. am very tired rn

One week down

at my new job as a baker and I am loving it! I am learning so much at my new job and it’s fantastic. I have some amazing co-workers that are really fun and laid back.

I feel happy about where I work now and I don’t feel as stressed out. When I first started, I was a little bit overwhelmed just because of the amount of things we bake on a daily basis, but I am starting to get our baking schedule down and the perfect techniques for our breads. 

One of my bosses said that I was learning how to do everything a lot quicker than employees in the past and that made me feel so damn good! I can’t wait until I get faster at making everything so I can work on other projects that need to be done around my work.

I'm super bored and super tired. Today is my last teacher training seminar and we only have a bit over an hour left, but I'm practically dying.
