Learning about the RV way of life!
So to jump right into things that have been going on lately in the life of being a full time rv family. We are now on move number 4 since we started our journey in May. Since our last move we were forced to move to higher ground due to the flooding and (monthly) move but, luckily this time we were given the opportunity to see how much of a difference having full hook ups can make for a family of 4. When my son used the restroom for the first time in our RV he flushed and said “Wow!” Now that’s what I am talking about! Learning to appreciate the small things! After 4 days of living and setting up our new spot we were told that due to the rising of the water in the lake we would have to find another place to stay because they were having to shut the park down. We scrambled to find a new place to live but I could not have done it without my parents and my faith in God. Since we are new to the RV life don't know much about where and what RV parks were good and the fact that our budget was non existing. We truly owe all thanks to him and my parents for all of the help, support, and guidance. We are now about 5 minutes from my parents house in Salado, TX at the Tranquil Gardens RV Park. I am so thankful to have a place to settle down in for a bit and not have to worry about being forced to find a new place. With all of that being said we are now down to 3 of us and the summer has officially now began. I can not wait to make the best of it with my children and to spend quality bonding time with them.

Last night I took some time to pause and reflect on the events and my stress level. I let God take the stress and worry and was left to be thankful for the challenges that we faced not only with my family but with my parents and brother. It has made me feel better prepared for challenges in the future. I also sat down and watched a documentary last night called If You Build It. It is about a couple that found the small town of Windsor, NC and their hurting school system and town that needed a jolt to get back on their feet. They planned a program for the school to incorporate a shop program that eventually built a Farmers Market for the community and used the Studio H approach. The kids learned how to design, build, and think outside of the box. Basically what I am trying to say is that it is a wonderful documentary and it tied into our whole thought process of getting into the RV living way of life for our family. I 100% believe that these kinds of programs and opportunities should be offered not only to our children in school but to the public as a whole. It was very inspiring and I hope you check into it and like it as much as I did.

Some quick Pros and Cons:
Pros:
1. Full Hook-ups make a world of difference when you have kids and a dog.
2. Even though moving so often can be stressful I would rather have to move an RV than house to house any day.
3. Getting outside more and getting more connected with nature has been amazing. The kids have been learning about animals, trees, and insects and I had an amazing encounter with a hummingbird drinking from my hummingbird feeder about 1 foot from my face!!!
4. We are going to start our growing food project to go along with our herbs.
Cons:
1. Most RV parks are not designed for little kids to be in therefore being forced to drive to take the kids to play outside. Not a big setback being that Salado is 5 minutes up the road.
2. We do not have a canopy on our RV so therefore when you step outside that sun hits you with all its got and even though I LOVE the sun it can be brutal.
I hope you all have a good week and are enjoying the start of summer
