nobody talks about how dehumanizing it is to be out trans and not pass. you tell someone your name and they ask you if you’re sure or they look confused and you have to assure them, yes, that is your name. or they don’t say anything then and they whisper to friends later and it feels like you’re getting stripped of your identity and you don’t deserve to be called that

and it’s such an invalidating experience

this might not make sense but now that i’m a binder wearer/owner i feel more comfortable with people knowing i’m trans? like i won’t really try to hide it as much at school/publicly? it also feels like i’m more deserving of being trans and called my preferred name/pronouns; i know thats dumb but it was such a fast switchup from nobody can know this to i really dont care tbh

Has anyone else noticed the huge jump of transphobia on pertty much every platform

Its genuinely so overwhelming and draining, everywhere I look its such sicking transphobia, like calls for violence, calling us mentally ill and disgusting and its just overwhelming me, I feel so.. mentally tired

Please tell me im not the only one? This pride month has been horrible, even other lgbt people are being transphobic, we arent even safe in our own community

I don't say this to sound ungrateful by any means, but sometimes the overly-supportive weirdly-happy-for-me cis people really irritate me.

For context, I got my name legally changed a while ago and it's amazing, but I've been going by that name for years already.

Yesterday I got some papers that had my new legal name on it instead of my deadname, and my friend's friend (cis woman) saw it was like "oh my gossshhh!! Look!!! Loook!!!" And was making a big deal over the paper and I was like "yeah?? Oh bc it's not deadnaming me? Yeah that's nice ig"

And she just kept going on and on about how happy she is for me and "oh my goshhhh it's, like, so amazing that you got that changedddd!!!" On one hand, yes thank you, I'm happy too. On the other hand, it just felt mildly demeaning in her tone and the way she made such a big deal of it bc like. It's my name. I just want to be normal about my name bc it's my name

Idk, just kinda irked me a little, especially since she does shit like that alllll the time

no one is forcing you to bow to anything, if you wanna call me he and call me a man I literally dont care. but lets break down what this really means. what youre really saying is 'when i call her a man she wont take my bullshit and then people get mad at me and now i feel like im in the wrong.'

you can misgender trans people all the live long day, but we dont have to sit there and deal with it. and people around you dont have to deal with your 1000th rant on us either. and thats where youre issue is. no one is listening to you anymore, the tides are turning and youre scared.
