I genuinely dont understand people who are pro-altage and pro-chronosian but anti-transage (as both a word and community) because its just proving that you dont know how prefixes work.
Chosing to use altage or chronosian because you prefer their names or community is completely fine and valid but it just shows how many people hate on transage just because it uses the trans prefix.
They're (at a base level, i know each community is slightly different but overall fit under the same umbrella of age weirdness) the same thing, and the fact ive seen chronosian and altage people calling transage people groomers or transphobes JUST BECAUSE they use the trans prefix / transage term just blows my mind. Like?? A) Thats your sibling and B) 'trans' as a prefix is NOT a queer only thing, you know that, right? Its a prefix thats used a lot (trans-portation, trans-action, trans-form, etc.) and has existed before the term transgender/transsexual.
People trying to gatekeep the 'trans' prefix as such and claim that anyone who uses it is "trying to force their way into the queer community" just proves you dont know how english nor etymology works.
I completely understand being uncomfortable with the transage name because it uses the trans- prefix since we live in a society that cuts down words and waters down their meaning, but i dont understand how you can be pro-altage and pro-chronosian yet be completely anti-transage.
I dunno, maybe im just high and over thinking but does that make anyone else feel, idk, off? It's like if some plural people hated the word persecutor because 'its a law term, not a plural term' or something. Things can have multiple meanings and uses, i mean after all there are only so many words, and why bother making a new word when you literally already have one at your disposal??
