Transactional email review of Saks
This was an order I made last year when my mom asked me to buy some skin care products.
I made my purchase on 10/8, and I’ve received this email titled “Your Saks Fifth Avenue Order Has Been Received”right after I clicked “confirm payment”.
I think it is very important that customers receive their confirmation email right after their purchase (I know some of the stores sent out confirmation email hours after or even days after purchase day) because customer would feel more secured.
The big “Received” written character shows that the system has received my request, and the store also sent me its appreciates shopping on its site.
This email contains my billing address, my payment type including my card information, promotion code that used and shipping method, order summary and shipping address. At the bottom is a list of the products I purchased and it even states the estimated delivery date for each product.
I could verify again with all the detailed information listed in this email, and, if anything is incorrect, I am able to contact with store faculties immediately so that I could leave out the inconvenience after my order has been shipped.
Three days later, on 10/11, I received another email with all the same detailed information but changed title “Confirmation of Your Saks Fifth Avenue Order”.
This email informed me that my order has been confirmed and ready to ship.
On the same day, I received another email says “Your Saks Fifth Avenue Has Shipped” with tracking numbers after each product.
Overall, I think Saks did a great job on its transactional emails. All the detailed information contents could help customers’ shopping experience easier and more satisfied. The on-time emails also convenient customers to notify their order status and track their orders, especially the first email (mentioned at beginning).
I believe that store use transactional emails aim to inform customers with order information and build constant friend relationship with customers. Therefore, transactional emails could actually effect customer’s attitude towards brands and it has become an indispensable element of today’s market.
