Finished this drawing of one of Jellie Bee’s character’s from her comic TRANSFER. Was a fun little project as I was feeling quite out of sorts with drawing. I also enjoyed adding the flowers in!

Jellie! I was wondering how you came up with the names for your OCs. I have four that need names and I'd like to know how you did it! Thanks so much! Your art is wonderful!

Haha no problem! I came up with Zach because I’ve always loved the name Zacharie and he’s my favourite character in OFF (Other than Sucre). So, I named Zacharie as such, and its shortened to Zach. I love more neutral names, my own name is Morgan and although I hated having ‘a boys name’ growing up, I absolutely adore it now, and have done since I was a teenager. Zo is just short for Zoey, who dislikes her full name.Zephyr was named by my dude @safeinaroom​ as we both love the name, it begins with a Z and its neutral

Now Ottieer and Marska are different. I am inspired heavily by language and I love Japanese, French, Spanish and Russian the most. I used Russian as a base for the Lapta race (Ottieer and Marska) and used Google translate to look up words and then said a few different things out loud.Ottieer’s name is derived from the Russian word “оттенок” which I found when I looked up translations for the word ‘Shade’ - Shade is my favourite character from my favourite book of all time, Silverwing (and by extension, Sunwing and Firewing) and bats are my favourite animal, which is why Ottieer was designed with bat ears.Marska derived from   “морской”   which apparantly means marine. Marina is Shade’s best friend (turned mate) in the Silverwing books, which mirror’s Marska’s relationship to Ottieer, too.
