To recap , me and my fiance moved in together back in June after 7 years of being together and 1 year being engaged.
We had hoped my fiancé would be able to transfer from his job to one in the new state, but they apparently have a horrible track record of never calling back and making it impossible for their employees to transfer smoothly from one state to another. HR was basically useless and did nothing to help.
So while I had a job it wasn't enough to help pay, so I took on a second at (Pink Box Cookie Place) ((You can gusse what it is)). Getting paid less than what I thought I was but it was money I needed. Mind you, I had to ride with my Friend / Co worker 45 minutes to this job. It was VERY VERY out of the way.
I was hired and one of my first major weeks of work was 4th of July weekend. It was extremely stressful but it gave me a gage of how bad it could get (this will come into play) while being understaffed with 2 people but we manged pretty well.
Fast forward, I was being taught more as I could (again we were understaffed and at max 2 ppl, with mostly Highschoolers being employed) so alot feel on the adult shoulders to do basically everything for Prep, clean up and restock everything.
Then came the HELL WEEK , where etye company decided to make a Hype food that was trending in TikTok (this store tended to do alot of collabs and trends which made it incredibly awful for us as they'd be high in demand) But again, I worked 4th 9f July which was pretty bad but I managed it.
I worked 4 days for the hell week, one 2 employs scheduled for it. I was not able to use the bathroom but twice doing my shift, I was so sore I couldn't people walk without pain. I never sat down to even rest because we sky rocket from having a little of to 1.3k for profits to 8k.
In ONE. FUCKING. DAY. I'm talking online orders, walk in and curbside pick up. People placing orders that were basically catering orders that the website shouldn't have allowed for people to even place.Hundreds , upon hundred of people came by.
The store has a capacity of 11 people to be inside and we would have at least 25 people crammed into a tiny store where the walls echoed and it became impossible to hear ANYONE. Every other store had SOLD OUT of the product besides us. Leaveing people to (I shit you not) drive 2 HOURS TO OUR STORE TO GET IT. Every other store in the COUNTRY had sold out and we were the few that still had some the last day.
I had to talk my co workers down from 2 panic attacks while fighting off my own. 4th of July was nothing like this week. We were so desperate for help even my boss(s) came to help us. That's how horrible it was. Though depsite given praises by my boss(s) .
Mind you it was the firts time I meet them face to face. There was a miscommunication i had with a customer, I thought we were still in the process of getting product ready and it wasn't available at that time.
By that time I had already gone through another 2 set of customers. So I told the customer only what I knew. My boss over heard, corrected me, I started telling anyone eles coming up we have the full thing now. This customer over heard and instead of asking for a refund / the thing. They decided to make a bad review saying i purposely was giving certain people the product vs others. And they said "i know you're busy" as there us twice the capacity number in a room, with two women running around like crazy.
They were pissed because 1. They tipped 2. They didn't the product they because I was "picking certain ppl to have it" 3.my co worker gave them their box and walked away (which we had multiple in house and online orders to fill she HAD to) and 4. Because we didn't SMILE.
My boss(s) took one look at it, despite telling me how well I worked and even making sure to highlight me and my co worker. Decided to fired me one week later. I needed this job. It didn't pay alot but with my second job it helped get by.
Now that my partner is struggling to get a job for the past 3 months , I am very scared. I am angery because I worked so hard, was told how well I did. Then I was terminated. I was never given a warning. I was never talked to. My poor manager (who is very sweet) had to tell me how sorry they were but the boss(s) wanted me gone.
