Transistor Radio Weekly Webcast
It's Tuesday and we've got a fresh slate of shows, adding up to about seven hours of music programming!
This week "15 Songs" could be renamed "2015 Songs," as Andy Miles presents an all-new-releases edition of the show, with music from Thom Yorke and Bjork, Dan Deacon, Panda Bear, Dengue Fever, Liam Hayes, Sleater Kinney, Mark Ronson (with Kevin Parker of Tame Impala), Will Butler of Arcade Fire, Sam Prekop of The Sea and Cake, and Bob Dylan. We've also got plenty of Jon Monteverde, who this week not only hosts his weekly show "In Store: Selections From Transistor's Live Performance Archive," but makes a fantastic contribution to "Bring Your Own Beat," the show in which Transistor Radio invites sound artists of all kinds to create an original piece for the webcast. Elsewhere, DJ Tashtego creates a new Chicago genre, Hibernation House, with a 76-minute mix of underground house and minimal techno tracks that have "the twin virtues of deepening the chill while also bringing in glints of sun." Andrea Garces is back with her "Gems of the Week," Lechstafari gets down with vintage soul, funk and disco, and the "Good Music Show with Scott & Odie" returns with an hour of indie and underground rock. And don't forget to check out Charlie Crane's "Stereo Hysteria," at the bottom of the player!

Friday night live at Transistor: a quadruple bill featuring noise solo bassoon from Katherine Young, minimalist solo double bass from Rob Lundberg, minimalist solo viola from Jessica Pavone, and drum improvisation from Joe Adamik with multi-instrumentalist Steve Dorocke. Sound by Jon Monteverde.
while i wait for the master recording of last night's set from Jon at Transistor, here is a mixdown of what i captured on my laptop. it was pretty loud. thanks everyone for coming.
And here's Airline-X's show-closing set at Transistor on April 12th.
A month ago, New Missionaries played our first gig at Transistor Chicago. Even though we weren't able to play as loud as we do in practice and I kept breaking strings, this video of the full set turned out pretty well. If you're in Chicago, be sure to come out to Reggie's May 25 - we get to kick out the jams at full volume!
