If we wait for the governments, it'll be too little, too late; if we act as individuals, it'll be too little; but if we act as communities, it might just be enough, just in time. - Rob Hopkins

People of color show little interest in movements that require a commitment to a group process working beside white people.
“I was at an environmental conference where no accommodation for the discussion of Black issues had been made.“
Welcome!
This website showcases Growing Spaces, a Transition Cambridge Project that began in Spring 2011. The project aims to reclaim unloved and underused spaces around the city of Cambridge and transform them using edible landscaping in public spaces as well as helping to create community gardens. To navigate this page, use the menu to the right. You can see all of the small spaces, big spaces, or community spaces that we've transformed. This project is the result of a lot of volunteers, funding and donors that made this project possible, so please take a moment to read our thank-yous as well!
As I am stepping down as coordinator, Growing Spaces will be on hold for the time being, but we do still need a few volunteers who can take care of some of our public spaces in the long-term! Why not check our map and see if there is a space near you? Please get in touch with me through the link at the bottom of this post if you're interested in light weeding and watering duties, as soon as possible.
Thanks for visiting! If you would like to contact me you can reach me through the Transition Cambridge website here.
