SmartTrack will slow GO RER down - They should cancel SmartTrack and put the funds towards a 3-stop Scarborough Subway Extension - There is not enough funding for both, and the subway will better service Scarborough's long-term transit needs

Today is the 20th anniversary of the The Russell Hill subway accident. Depicted here in a painting I commissioned by @taminoa for a record I put out 5 years ago. I wrote in the liner notes about how the accident could have been avoided if the TTC wasn't put under financial strain and forced to ignore necessary upgrades to the system despite the risk to our safety. Remember just because a politician may save you a few tax dollars it's not doing you any favors, this applies at all levels of government. May we never experience an accident like this again in Toronto or for similar reasons anywhere in our country.
