I saw that you made a transids tips post!! Would it be possible for you to make transmentalhospitalized tips or Translabexperiment tips? You don’t have to if you don’t want to ofc! I just don’t see a lot of tips for those two usually…
TRANS MENTAL HOSPITAL TIPS !
cw : psych mentioned and potentially triggering subjects
as someone who has been hospitalized 16 times and was a rotating door patient with phych reliant tendencies i feel very equipped to answer this but i will answer it in ways to relieve dysphoria and not get yourself hospitalized as thats obviously how to technically transistor to this and the psych is a very traumatic experience for many including myself . so these are more tips to encorp into your daily life outside the ward and most are things i did whilst in intensive out patient from the psych ! please do NOT get yourself intentionally hospitalized , applying these tips to daily life can help with dysphoria though .
routine ! keeping a good routine is something everybeing in the psych does . meals at certain times , sleep at certain times , ect . looking up psych ward time schedules can help for setting this up for yourself in daily life ! schedules meant for those in residential may be better to apply then short term phych schedules .
wording ! in the psych alot of subjects are avoided or different words are used to avoid potentially triggering someone . bl4des and s3lf h4rm tools are referred to as 'sharps' , p!lls and drvgs in general are avoided in discussions , sexual topics and traumatic experiences are also avoided topics . asking those close to you to avoid these topics can help aswel .
therapys ! in the phych most are doing some form of cbt or dbt , doing these im your daily life can help tons , dbt work books that work through coping skills you can get online and you can most likely get ones used in psych wards .
meds ! if you have medication taking it as prescribed is something mandatory in the ward . if you have someone willing to check under your tongue thats also something the technicians do in the ward to make sure no one is pocketing pills or even just doing to motion of lifting your tongue . i know that wont be helpful for everyone but it may relieve some dysphoria .
clothes ! no strings ( yes even shoe laces and hoodie strings ) , no revealing clothes , ect . of course you dont need to follow this but looking up psych clothing standards for what patents are and aren't allowed to wear can help relieve dysphoria alot . i had someone notice i was out of the ward once because all my hoodies where de stringed lol .
safety plans ! you can do these on paper and theres many guides online but most everybeing in the psych has a safety plan and you should apply this to crisis situations if you have them !
coping skills ! working on coping skills is something most beings do in the ward , box breathing and 5 things are the most common i worked on .
foods ! there are alot of foods commonly served im phychs , its common for hospitals to be catering food for psychs aswel . you can probably find your local psych or hospitals meal chart / menu online . common foods i had where biscuits , grits , different kinds of chicken , cereal was common , and fruits .
