I finally watched Encanto so I can reply to this. My thoughts are a little scattered so bare with me.
This is so asinine! People gain weight, fish (in the depicted bowl shown) die suuuuuper easy, people loose hair!
Tbh what the characters should have done was prepare for their futures, the movie showed us that instead of being proactive they were just blaming Bruno for inevitablilities that can be good or bad depending how you respond to them.
The fandom is gonna just be exhausting. That woman kept her fish in conditions that cause early death but sure take issue with the fat man "blaming" Bruno???? Idk this is so weird considering there were 3 people in that moment ???? Just wtf???
All that aside idk how I feel about that section at all. Weight gain and balding isn't as tragic as a pet death. But idk how you'd rework that.
