[ it was hard to tell what time is was. they had a habit of ignoring their phone down there, and it wasn't like they could look outside. not to mention how poor their internal clock was. if they didn't know any better, they could've said that time itself had come to a standstill.

it hummed to itself and walked on, tracing its gaze along the little yellow lights that lit its path. exhaustion stung its eyes, yet its body thrummed with energy. it could keep going. it would keep going. it would keep going until it couldn't, and then it would find something else just as fun to do. they had the time to spare. ...probably.
and so they did. they kept on strolling through those empty, peaceful tunnels, gems glittering in the soil, warm lamplight softly guiding them, far from the prying gazes of the outside world...
they wished they could do this forever. ]
