    —the shock of sudden shadow onsetting is all it takes to make her shriek softly, rising on her toes in surprise… but with his laughter that pricks through the darkness comes recognition, a huff of relief from his victim, and then her breathy chuckle. Turning to face him, her smile is amused, but her eyes are fallen, hiding the rest of her thoughts. The distance doesn't last long, stepping forward to rest her head against him.
